Graphite and charcoal on paper, 57 x 77 cm

Dawn Wilson’s current practice has centred on how photography and art can capture a moment in time. Whether it is a fashion model staring defiantly at the audience or a young couple exuberantly dancing the night away, Dawn’s figures exude personality.

Dawn’s recent monochromatic drawings have focused on the fashions, youth cultures and night life in Mali from the 1950’s onward. Dawn’s drawings incorporate a broad range of materials including pencils, chalk, graphite sticks and charcoal powder to produce artworks with an intense sense of depth.

Dawn has been a member of the Intoart studio since 2018
