Collect 2024

28 February – 3 March

Collect 2024

The leading international fair
for contemporary craft and design

Andre Williams

‘Hidden Room’ is a new collection of handcrafted furniture, textiles and ceramics taking inspiration from the forest floor as an endlessly interesting but potentially dangerous place with hidden snakes, poisonous frogs and creepy crawlies. Each piece of furniture is unique, hand painted by the artist and upholstered in his bespoke screen printed textiles.

Lisa Trim

Lisa works with embroidered and printed textiles, drawing and collage. Bringing to life a visual language packed with fun and irreverence where animals, fictional and historical figures collide in deadpan observations of everyday life. For Collect, she has scaled up using screen print, embroidery, couching and applique to make new richly embellished figurative and decorative textiles. Her latest work ‘ROSE & CROWN’ shares her fascination with pubs, their interiors, signage and the social spaces they create for people to come together.

Dawn Wilson

Dawn’s drawings depict dapper figures dancing, traveling and being in the company of others. Churches, dance-floors and bars feature frequently, and her work draws from historic photographs of communities in Jamaica, and Mali and Democratic Republic of the Congo.

Following an artist residency at Wysing Arts Centre in May 2023, she has worked from her existing drawings to develop a new series of ceramic slab tile works using black earthenware, slips, underglazes and sgraffito techniques.

About the exhibition

Intoart is proud to return to Collect International Fair for Contemporary Craft and Design at Somerset House. We are thrilled to be presenting new work by three artists Andre Williams, Dawn Wilson and Lisa Trim making their debut at Collect 2024.

Previews: Thursday 29th Feb

Open: Friday 1st – Sunday 3rd March

Somerset House, South Wing, Stand 12

Intoart approaches the curation of the stand through a series of artist commissions made specifically for the Fair.  Following the successes of award-winning Intoart artist, Christian Ovonlen Brookfields Properties Craft Award 2022; Intoart’s ‘Best Stand’ Award 2020; and significant acquisitions by the Victoria and Albert Museum, we are delighted to return with an exciting selection of new works.
